Job Description

Seeking Junior Nanny for a very good family living at Lake Zurich. Candidates can expect to be interviewed first by skype.
 

Junior Nanny position in Wollerau/Zurich where you can train alongside a very experienced British nanny. Excellent for any nanny who is serious about a career in nannying, particularly if you wish to work internationally as a nanny, world-wide as a highly paid nanny.

Working alongside a full-time Nanny with 17+ years of experience.
Start date early January 2020 for 1 year
The monthly gross salary will be 2500 CHF. 990 CHF is deducted for room and board and other normal charges for social security, income taxe etc. 

The net salary comes to ca 1200 CHF per month and you should pay your own health insurance. If extra hours are needed, they will pay them separately. During your free time, you may do/go where you want.

Role
Junior Nanny that has a genuine interest in children and wants to develop their professional childcare career gaining skills and experience. Working alongside a full-time Nanny with 17+ years of experience. You would be assisting the full-time Nanny and follow her instructions on a mix between shared and sole charge care. Caring for a boy 18 months and a girl 6 months when position starts. The main language being spoken is English (but parents are Swiss).

The role is:
Around 35 hours a week.
Plus 2 babysitting evenings (usually Monday-Thursday so the junior Nanny gets her weekends free).
Our aim is that the person will have plenty of time during the week to pursue her interests and hobbies and have long weekends so she can travel etc.
Some flexibility from both sides are appreciated. Things can quickly change while caring for children, like illness and accidents. The Nanny will be required to be flexible with her work hours when we travel (longer hours and days).
The work schedule will change during the year when the children starts nursery school. Both will attend 2 full days from August 2020, but the little boy is on a waiting list and will hopefully start before Easter.

The weekly work schedule is not 100% set yet, but it would probably be a mid day start on the Monday working till the evening, Tuesday morning till mid day, Wednesday mid morning till mid afternoon, Thursday morning till midday, Friday morning till mid afternoon. We are trying to form the schedule to work with the kids schedules (their sleep, feeding times, activities). We also want the nanny to have some afternoons off to pursue interests.

Duties:
Sole charge and shared care of the children.
Housekeeping including: light cooking for the children, children laundry and ironing, keeping apartment tidy and clean, tidy kids toys, kitchen general tidy (dishwasher loading etc). All chores are divided between the nannies, team effort.
Cover the Nanny's time off and if she is sick.

Family philosophy:
The household is strict and believe in structure, routines and discipline, discretion and privacy. Children feel more comfortable and confident in a structured day which enables them to thrive.

Accommodation:
You will be staying in the apartment with the other Nanny and the children. The parents have a private apartment downstairs. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom. The apartment is very big and you will have plenty of space and privacy. We have a huge terrace overlooking Lake Zurich and is great for the summer months.

The family live in a small village a short train ride from central Zurich. Stunning views over Lake Zurich, the mountains, fields...very beautiful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, hiking, gyms, restaurants...Plenty of local au pairs/mothers helps/nannies.
Public transport here is fantastic so very easy and quick to get around on busses, trains and boats. You will get a travel card to use for both work and free time.

What we are looking for:
Somebody who has got previous experience with children in a private setting. We need someone who is confident in her own abilities and can work on her own as well as alongside someone else. Someone that is serious in pursuing a childcare career. A confident individual who is proactive, likes to dive into her work and has common sense.
 

Requirements

Good English, British or EU passport.

Up to date DBS/ police check

First Aid 

Full passport for working in Switzerland
